A Little Break from Birds

Taking a little break from birds here. So how's about this painting of rays for ya?

Wow, hello, well I've had a little bit of time to recover from the On a Wing Family Festival and I am very happy with how my talk turned out and how the day unfolded. It was amazing weather to boot. This was something that I had prepared for for the last 6 weeks, y'know? It was something looming on the horizon for such a long time and I went into major production mode because I wasn't working at the same time (at a day job) so this sorta became my job and focus. Not too bad, can't complain having the time to devote my days towards making art for the goal of showing it to the public AND being able to talk about it at the same time. That was a very unique opportunity and it was much anticipated (for me!). When the time to present finally came, it turned out quite different then I expected, the room was about half full of kids and their parents, the rest were adults, so I quickly modified my presentation so that it could appeal to the kids and keep them engaged. If anything, it kinda freed me from my expectations of how it would go, any illusions that it would result in some big break for me and to just have fun with it. I got to be silly and had a fart joke in it even. At the end, everyone was all smiles and best of all I got them to do the Newell's shearwater call.

Thank you to all of you who came to hear me present! I really appreciate it!!
